Heartbreaking loss in overtime
The Kelowna Rockets did enough to turn a forgettable start into a game they had every opportunity to win. Unfortunately, one bounce in overtime left them with nothing to show for the comeback.
The Spokane Chiefs scored on the power play in the extra period Wednesday night, handing the Rockets a 3-2 overtime loss at Prospera Place.
Cole Braunshausen was serving a hooking penalty when the Chiefs capitalized on the man advantage, ending a contest in which Kelowna had battled back from a sluggish opening 30 minutes to force overtime.
It was the eighth time this season the Rockets have played beyond regulation. For Spokane, the victory extended an impressive road record to 6-0.
