Damon Severson adds depth to Blue Jackets blueline
You can’t blame Damon Severson for having a huge smile on his face.
Who wouldn’t if a new employer offered an eight-year contract worth 50 million dollars?
“It is fantastic money”, the former Kelowna Rockets d-man told RocketFAN after coming to terms on an NHL deal with the Columbus Blue Jackets on June 9th. “I am getting to live my dream for another eight years in Columbus. It was a no-brainer for us, and we couldn’t turn it down.”
For the happy-go-lucky defender, feeling wanted by the NHL team, which finished dead last in the Eastern Conference last season, was the tipping point.
