Hoyer survives Death Race
Scott Hoyer doesn’t just talk the talk. The athletic therapist for the Kelowna Rockets walks the walk.
The 55 year-old Regina resident takes great pride in making sure the players take the off season conditioning regime seriously, which means pushing themselves in the gym and making the right food choices to fuel an elite athletes body.
Hoyer doesn’t take the summer off either, fine tuning his physique while pushing the limits of his own body and mind.
For a second consecutive year, Hoyer participated in the Canadian Death Race. It involves a 125 km course, passing through three mountain summits and includes 17,000 feet of elevation change over different terrain. Athletes are given 24 hours to finish.
