Henderson leads Rockets’ comeback, but Portland wins in shootout
The Kelowna Rockets are making a habit of keeping fans on the edge of their seats, even if Wednesday night’s finish wasn’t quite what they wanted.
For the fourth straight game, the Rockets needed extra time to decide the outcome, and for the sixth time in their first 10 games, 60 minutes wasn’t enough. This time, Portland came away with a 3-2 shootout victory at Prospera Place.
Jacob Henderson scored twice and added Kelowna’s lone shootout goal, giving him a team-leading five goals on the season as the Rockets extended their point streak to six games.
The loss leaves Kelowna with a 4-2-2-2 record, although the club completed its five-game homestand with a point in every game and extended its overall point streak to six contests.
