Rockets let opportunity slip away
For 20 minutes, the Kelowna Rockets looked like they were on their way to their most satisfying win of the young season.
They were physical, they were generating chances, and they had the WHL-leading Brandon Wheat Kings chasing the game. A two-goal lead after the opening period put the Rockets in an ideal position to close out a quality opponent.
Then the game began to slip away.
Brandon battled back to force overtime and scored 1:41 into the extra period Saturday night, handing Kelowna a 3-2 loss at Prospera Place.
