‘The sky’s the limit’ for Madden Daneault, says longtime coach
For most 15-year-old hockey players, playing in the Western Hockey League means seeing limited action while they adjust to the pace and physicality of the league.
For Madden Daneault, he’ll have a much bigger opportunity.
The Kelowna Rockets’ first overall selection in the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft is eligible to play up to 34 games with the Rockets this season, making him the first 15-year-old in franchise history to have that opportunity.
But when Daneault isn’t in Kelowna, he’ll return to Red Deer, where he will play U18 hockey for the Red Deer U18 Chiefs under head coach Justin Jarmolicz.
