Dawson Gerwing scored at 10:27 for his first goal of the preseason, with Madden Daneault and Dane Sorensen picking up the assists.

That cut the Vees’ lead to 2-1, but the Rockets couldn’t carry the momentum into the second.

Tristan Petersen restored Penticton’s two-goal lead just 44 seconds into the middle frame, scoring shorthanded.

Peter Banicevic added another at 14:39 to give the Vees a 4-1 advantage heading into the second intermission.

The physical play continued to ramp up, with Kelowna’s Owen Folstrom and Penticton’s Nate Pederson dropping the gloves at 15:10. Folstrom came out on top in the fight.

Pantelas scored his second of the night at 6:07 of the third period before Gavin Katz finished the scoring with a power-play goal at 13:02.

Sobocan played the entire game for Kelowna and finished with 31 saves.

The Vees outshot the Rockets 37-24 and went 2-for-9 on the power play. Kelowna finished 1-for-5 with the man advantage.

Kelowna won the faceoff battle 41-30.

The Rockets and Vees will meet Saturday night again at Prospera Place to wrap up the preseason.
